Khmer Silk Processing Association is a non-profit organization generating incomes for the programme of the Future Light Orphanage (FLO), an NGO that provides mental health counselling and orphanage care. KSPA aims to generate income for the orphanage and its social programmes and provide training and sustainable employment to poor women. It is committed to producing high-quality silk products using traditional Khmer dying and weaving techniques. KSPA uses only natural dyes which help protect the environment as well as the health of its workers. In 2004, KSPA won the “Seal of Excellence for Handicrafts in Southeast Asia” award by UNESCO for innovative approaches and efforts to preserve and promote traditional craftsmanship.
